• Yoga Sequence On-The-Go

Whenever I am not traveling and working in Dubai, I practice Mysore 1 to 2 times a week at Ashtanga Yoga Dubai studio.  Mysore is very personal and special to me.  I practice at my own speed along with other yogis in the same space, and with senior teachers adjusting my form, I can go deeper and calmer in each pose (asanas). Being a vinyasa yoga teacher, keeping myself motivated to practice yoga constantly has been a learning journey, and to be honest, it isn’t easy. After months of searching and “crowd-sourcing”, I was finally able to have the right formula to keep my morning practice consistent while on the…

  • Be resilient.  Be Hopeful.

Resilience Many people, who have known me, may not know that I was a classical trained Chinese instrument player from age of 9 to age of 14, and competed nationally till the day I did not get admitted to the best Music and Art Performance school in Taiwan. The Chinese instrument I played is called Liuqin. If you are curious about what Liuqin sounded like, this music piece (https://youtu.be/sTynfNCgXlY) is what I played at a national competition.  I was placed number 7 nationally at age of 13. To me, I failed as a musician at an early age. And, a few weeks after finding out not admitted to the top…

  • Life Journey Starts with You

I just wrapped up teaching 2 workshops in Dubai and Doha, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to share my tools with those who attended the workshops. Many people asked me why I am so motivated to teach mindfulness and professional coaching to others.   My answer simply is that , “I just want to make an impact in people’s lives.  Help them make positive change and be more resilient.” I personally went through a soul-searching journey 5 years ago, after moving from NYC to the Middle East and recovering from a life-changing medical event.  Only applying tools like professional coaching, yoga, and mindfulness, I began living…

  • Minimalist Guide for Business Travel Packing

Ever since I was a child, I have loved flying.  Experiencing an airplane taking off from the runway and marching into the sky is my favorite moment of any travel.  Plus, the feeling of gazing the cloud in the sky gives me a sense of present moment and stillness. I fly every week for work, and packing efficiently has become one of my obsessions.  Interestingly enough, I observe that when I pack minimalist-ly, I do feel content and energized during my entire trip. What does packing minimalist-ly mean?  It means to pack items that only serve a need during the trip and spark happiness when I use or wear them.  After many trials and errors,…

  • Do What You Love for Living

I like Greece, a country filled with so much history, beauty, culture, and kindness.  The unemployment rate in Greece is at 23%.  On the street of Athens, it’s not hard to spot economical stress in people’s eyes.  Yet, it’s also not hard to feel Greek people’s determinations and passions for what they do for living, especially small business owners. My husband and I always love exploring boutique shops in countries we visit.  While in Greece, we tasted the best coffee and hot chocolate in Athens, and the best home-cooked Greek food in Nafplio.  Each place we tried, we experienced shop owners’ detail to attention in food we received.  An that…

  • Creating a yoga practice space while traveling

Since last year, I have been spending 50% of my time traveling for work.  Packing a week’s worth of daily necessities in a carry-on suitcase has become one of my super skills.  I am able to de-clutter my mind and sense happiness, with just the right travel yoga essentials by my side. One-third of my carry-on suitcase is now my yoga travel kit, Yogo yoga mat: the most compact yoga mat I have ever had.  The environmentally-conscious yoga mat folds up like a newspaper and is made of 100% recycled material. Yoga Buckle Strap: this cotton strap comes in handy, especially after a long flight. I use the strap to…
