• Manage Holiday Stress

My good friend, Andrea Gemma, and I have been friends since 2012 when we both went through ICF coaches’ training together at University of Miami.  Now, we both are certified ICF ACC coaches and continue to find ways to give back to our online communities. In our last Facebook Live event, we shared our techniques that can help people manage their stress and cope with holiday blue, while staying committed to goals during this year’s holiday season.  In short, there aren’t lots of time left in 2017, here are 3 things to consider, Focus on 1 goal only List out top 3 actions that you will need to accomplish that week. …

  • Wearable Tech and Wellbeing

Even though I work in the technology field, I am actually a Gen-2 adopter.  I got my first wearable tech 9 months ago, nearly 6 years after wearable devices first became mainstream for personal computing and fitness tracking in 2010s. I got Fitbit Charge 2  for wellness purpose, as I wanted data to analyze my wellbeing, such as daily steps, hours of sound sleep, calories burned from yoga practice and walks, and notifications when stress occurred.  However, after one month of consistently wearing Fitbit Charge 2 , I took it off and rarely wore it.  I found myself so obsessed with collecting my fitness and bio data, to a point that I felt my wearable was…

  • Yoga Sequence On-The-Go

Whenever I am not traveling and working in Dubai, I practice Mysore 1 to 2 times a week at Ashtanga Yoga Dubai studio.  Mysore is very personal and special to me.  I practice at my own speed along with other yogis in the same space, and with senior teachers adjusting my form, I can go deeper and calmer in each pose (asanas). Being a vinyasa yoga teacher, keeping myself motivated to practice yoga constantly has been a learning journey, and to be honest, it isn’t easy. After months of searching and “crowd-sourcing”, I was finally able to have the right formula to keep my morning practice consistent while on the…

  • Life Journey Starts with You

I just wrapped up teaching 2 workshops in Dubai and Doha, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to share my tools with those who attended the workshops. Many people asked me why I am so motivated to teach mindfulness and professional coaching to others.   My answer simply is that , “I just want to make an impact in people’s lives.  Help them make positive change and be more resilient.” I personally went through a soul-searching journey 5 years ago, after moving from NYC to the Middle East and recovering from a life-changing medical event.  Only applying tools like professional coaching, yoga, and mindfulness, I began living…

  • Energy Meditation 5 Simple Steps

I am often asked by people about finding time to meditate.  To be frank, it isn’t easy for me, as I travel weekly for work. I meditate at home, at hotels, in cars, in taxi and also in airplanes.  Meditating on-to-go may not be ideal to many, but to me, any minute of deep breathing helps clear my mind and brings a sense of peace to my soul. This past Ramadan, I taught Energy Meditation at work.  Basically, 1 energy chakra meditation each day, from the root to the crown.  And, at the end of 7 days, those who attended the sessions felt differences in their bodies and minds – calm,…

  • Defeating self-judgement

Being in the corporate world for 15+ years has much influenced on how I operate in my personal life.  I look at 2016 the whole year and divide my goals into a 4-quarter system. And, this quarter, I made a decision to work on my personal goals, and honestly, I have had my ups and downs on this journey.  During the up time, I feel like a superwoman, on the top of the world; however, during the down time, I feel incredibly blue, overwhelmingly judgemental toward self. From a coach’s perspective, it’s actually healthier to have down time, as long as you are willing to notice, acknowledge, and contemplate your…
